The 2018 Driftwood Cabana Club Beach Volleyball Tournament will be held on Saturday, October 6th at 11:00 a.m. at the Driftwood Cabana Club at 1485 Ocean Avenue, Sea Bright NJ. With the strong support of the Event Sponsors: Warshauer Electric, Torcon and Driftwood Cabana Club and Tiki Bar, this tournament is now entering its third year!
In 2016, Stacey & Mike Warshauer and Brian & Chris Torcivia launched the first beach volleyball tournament to raise funds to address the escalating public health crisis in our nation and in our community, where drug-related deaths for young people now exceed car accidents and homicide combined.
Monmouth County has been hit hard by the opioid epidemic. Opioid overdoses are at all time highs and there is a significant need for treatment in our community. Medication Assisted Treatment, along with counseling and support is the evidence-based and proven course of treatment effective in helping individuals find recovery. But all too often, individuals experience the barriers of insurance restrictions and financial burden.
This event raises funds to enable CPC’s Addiction Recovery Program to provide life-saving kits of overdose-reversing Narcan along with medication assisted treatment for teenagers and young adults seeking to recover from heroin or opiate addiction.
There are many ways to support this event and help to save lives. You can join the growing list of sponsors, recruit a team to play in the tournament, or attend the event and purchase food and beverages at the Tiki Bar, where Driftwood is donating 20% of the proceeds to CPC. Spectators are free! We also welcome a donation of an item to the gift auction or a contribution to the event. Whichever you choose to do, please know how much your support is appreciated and that you will be helping to make recovery a reality for individuals in our community.
