Beach Volleyball Tournament to benefit CPC

The proceeds of the event will benefit CPC’s Addiction Recovery Services to provide Narcan to families and financial assistance for medication assisted treatment for individuals in recovery.

What is Medication Assisted Treatment?

  • Just like psychiatric disorders, substance use disorders are treated in multiple ways.

  • Evidence shows that medication can be extremely beneficial for someone to maintain their recovery.

  • Treatments include daily medications like Methadone or Suboxone and monthly Naltrexone.

  • These medications can be expensive and insurance companies do not always cover them.

What is Narcan?

  • Narcan, also known as Naloxone is a medication that can “reverse” a heroin/opiate overdose

  • Narcan is given through a nasal spray or an injection

  • When someone has overdosed, their breathing has slowed significantly or stopped completely. Narcan will assist that person in resuming normal breathing.

  • Having Narcan available can be the difference between life and death.
