CPC Behavioral Healthcare has sponsored a Supported Employment program since 1988. Our staff work collaboratively with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. CPC's Supported Employment assists individuals with psychiatric disabilities in returning to work in the community. The goal is to help adult consumers choose, find, obtain and keep employment. Employment specialists provide on-the-job training, as well as act as a liaison with the employer.

This program is designed to help participants succeed in the world of work through:

  • Assessment and Evaluation: Staff work collaboratively with consumers to identify vocational objectives
  • Career Exploration: Referral to training and educational opportunities
  • Job Development: Staff partner with local businesses and employers to establish job opportunities for consumers
  • Job Coaching: On- or off-site staff support is offered to assist the participants in their transition into the workforce
  • Follow-up Services for Job Retention: On-going supports assist the consumer in retaining employment

This program is located at CPC's Aberdeen Counseling Center in Aberdeen.

accpicnicEvery year, CPC Supported Employment holds an event that honors the individuals the program serves by recognizing their successes and efforts toward obtaining and maintaining meaningful work in the community and achieving the goals of their recovery.  This year’s 15th annual picnic was held on July 15th at the Bucks Mill recreation area in Colts Neck. The Saker Shoprite of Aberdeen and Cluck U Chicken of Red Bank offered generous donations.
