The History of CPC

Founded in 1960

CPC Behavioral Healthcare was founded in 1960 as the Children's Psychiatric Center, the first mental health facility in Monmouth County, NJ, to offer outpatient services for children with emotional problems. Since 1960, CPC has expanded to serve adults and families, as well as children, and provides a comprehensive array of mental health and substance abuse treatment programs, case management and special education services from one, integrated source.

Today, CPC serves more than 8,000 children, adolescents, adults and families who live with mental illness, substance use or other disabilities that impact learning, working and healthy connections to the wider community.
